TRINBAGOPAN: We are in the basketball courtyard opposite the San Juan Hill Police Station where Pamberi will be performing their choice for Panorama 2006, 'Judgement Day' by De Fosto, arranged by Brian Villafana. Amongst the many supporters who came out to hear Pamberi play are the popular calypsonians Lord Relator and 'De Fosto'. Mr. Sullivan is here with me to chat a bit about what Pamberi has for us.
TRINBAGOPAN: What are your plans for Pamberi this Carnival Season?
NESTOR: We want to come first in Panorama, and after that we will take it from there.
TRINBAGOPAN: What are your future plans for this year?
NESTOR: We have a number of things like the youth programs and some international things to do, as well as some community work.
TRINBAGOPAN: How is it for bands that do not have adequate sponsors, given the cost of participating in Panorama?
NESTOR: We have acquired a sponsorship from the Eastern Credit Union for three years and it is quite good. That existence is behind us now, but I know what you are talking about. Un-sponsored bands really have it difficult.
TRINBAGOPAN: Is there anything else you would like to share with the people out there?
NESTOR: Steelbands need to take their work seriously to see the value in what they are doing. They should think about their own future and check to see if they have the best possible representation.
TRINBAGOPAN: Thank you.
