We are at the Queens Park Savannah where the Panorama Semi-finals is taking place. Many of the bands are already here and anxiously awaiting their turn to perform on stage. We are interviewing some of the movers and shakers within these bands. We are here with the captain of Antillean All Stars Steel Orchestra, Ms. Lydia Seecharan.

TRINBAGOPAN: Ms. Seecharan, how has Panorama 2006 been for you?

LYDIA: For me it has been a very hectic one. Getting the band ready and so on has been a little bit difficult. Coming up here was another task, getting everybody together. It has been fun. For me, it's been great being a captain and I really enjoyed the experience. Although it has been challenging at times, I tried in my way to smile through it.

TRINBAGOPAN: As a young female in the Pan Fraternity, how has the experience been?

LYDIA: It hasn't been smooth as such, but nothing in Pan is smooth. You would find that being a female captain you have a little more stress and challenges. It is expected for you to prove you can do a better job as a female than most of the male captains out there.

TRINBAGOPAN: Do you all have any plans after Panorama 2006?

LYDIA: We plan to enter a lot of the other competitions. We plan to keep a very active and productive band. We are really trying to keep the youths off the streets.

TRINBAGOPAN: Do you have a lot of young people in the band?

LYDIA: Yes. We have a lot of aspiring youths in the band and I am really proud of them.

TRINBAGOPAN: What is your tune of choice and who is the arranger?

LYDIA: Our tune of choice is 'Good Times' by Denyse Plummer. The arranger is Glen 'Zola' Williams.

TRINBAGOPAN: Who is the manager of the band?

LYDIA: We have two managers, Matthew Lee and Anthony Cooke. Our Drill Master is Alan Cardinal.

TRINBAGOPAN: Do you have any final words?

LYDIA: To the youths, I just want to say that Pan is a wonderful thing and music is good for the soul. If anyone has the aspiration to go after anything in music, they should just go ahead and do it.

TRINBAGOPAN: Thank you very much.
